Ionia State Park
Day 4

Another great day, started out with a cute little boy crawling into mom and dad's bed and wrapping himself all up in his blankets for a little more morning wake up time. He carried all of his "buddies" into our bed and chilled out for a few more minutes.

We decided today was a good day for a hike. The trail around the lake cannot be completed in it's entirety without crossing a creek where the bridge is out. Last year, we hiked the "beach" side of the lake several times. This year we decided to hike the other side. It was nicely shaded, running through the woods and up to the creek.

Well worth the hike - what a beautiful sight.

On the way back to our campsite,
the kids found this log that was perfect for climbing.

Later in the afternoon, we made another wonderful trip to the beach.
Allison was looking pretty silly with her goggles.

Sam is a little fish with his swim wings.

Nicholas tried and tried all weekend to sink the buoy.
Of course, he was not successful - but he sure had fun trying.

On the way back to the truck,
Sam and Allison decided to take a little detour to chase some birds.
